Which Sign Type Fits
We make four sign types, and they are not interchangeable. These are the ones that suit this environment, and why.

The specification decisions that are worth making before fabrication, because they are expensive or impossible to change afterwards.
Halo lighting needs the wall behind it
A halo-lit sign works by throwing light onto the surface behind, so the wall is part of the sign. Flat, light, matte finishes glow evenly; dark, glossy or heavily textured surfaces eat the effect. Send a photo of the actual wall before the finish is chosen.
Hide the supply before the wall is closed
The difference between a clean reception sign and a compromised one is usually a cable. If the fit-out is still open, get the power drop placed behind the sign position now — chasing it in afterwards is disruptive and rarely invisible.
Size against the whole wall, not the logo
Reception signs are most often specified too small, because they are sized against the artwork rather than the space. Work from the viewing distance across the lobby and the width of the wall it sits on.
Silent operation
A reception is quiet, and anything with an audible driver becomes the thing people notice. We specify the driver for silent running and locate it away from the seating area rather than immediately behind the sign.

What finish works best for a reception logo sign?
Brushed stainless and painted metal are the usual reception answers, halo-lit so the wall carries a soft glow behind solid lettering. Where the logo is full-colour or not reducible to letterforms, layered UV-print acrylic on standoffs does the same job without flattening the mark.
Can you hide the wiring on a reception sign?
Yes, if the power drop lands behind the sign position. The best time to arrange that is while the fit-out is still open — chasing a supply into a finished reception wall afterwards is disruptive and seldom ends up truly invisible. Send us the wall detail early and we will mark the drop position on the mockup.
How big should a reception sign be?
Size it against the wall and the viewing distance across the lobby, not against the logo file. The most common mistake we see is a sign specified from artwork proportions that then looks lost on a nine-metre reception wall. Send the wall dimensions and a photo and we will scale it on the mockup.
Will a halo-lit sign work on a dark or textured wall?
Less well, and it is worth knowing before the finish is signed off. Halo lighting works by reflecting off the surface behind, so flat matte light-coloured walls glow evenly while dark, glossy or heavily textured ones absorb or scatter it. On those, frontlit lettering or a standoff-mounted acrylic mark is the better specification.
Can you match our corporate brand colours?
Yes — Pantone, HEX and CMYK. For a multi-floor or multi-site rollout, order the pieces together rather than floor by floor: signs from one production batch match each other, and matching later to an already-installed sign is considerably harder.
